As simple as it may be, closing my first deal was one of the most memorable and rewarding moments in my life.

What is your role at OpenText? Tell us about your career progression.

I started at OpenText as an Account Development Representative. My first contact was through a recruiter on LinkedIn. After 2 years of crushing my targets, I was promoted into a full cycle sales role as a Portfolio Account Executive.

What advice would you give to people looking to start a career in sales?

Make sure you can handle the pressure of a quota, make sure you can handle high volumes of rejection and always be closing.


How would you describe the culture at OpenText?

Very laid back, west coast style of attitude with the fast paced, multi challenge environments of a large organization.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I like to surf, landscape my country property, cook and sadly… play Minecraft!

Is there anything else you wish to share with us about yourself?

When I was 21, I decided to take a huge step out of my comfort zone and ran for Halton Regions next Regional Councilor. It was at this moment I realized that life is about taking leaps and not accepting the status quo.
