OpenText Core for Building Information Modelling
Get true BIM collaboration and validation
OpenText Core for Building Information Modelling (BIM) overview
OpenText™ Core for Building Information Modelling is a true BIM collaboration and validation platform that follows the BIM standard ISO19650 tenets. Its simple, easy to follow interface allows for rapid adoption across the entire project team, ensuring final deliverables are assigned to content authors and authorized recipients only. The platform helps target those most able to address problems and issues as they arise and ensures timely resolution and increased assurance in the quality of the final handover.
What is Building Information Modeling?
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a process of generating digital representations of physical items, including their properties and functional characteristics. Representations are used to develop, test, optimize, quantify and virtually build designs prior to construction activity to avoid unnecessary future spend. Although BIM is most often associated with architecture and construction, its methods and processes are also applied to many other fields where virtual enactment of a physical activity can provide a significant saving, such as prescriptive maintenance analysis to increase uptime.
OpenText Core for Building Information Modelling benefits
-
Increases production uptime revenue
Ensure efficient collaboration and validation of critical BIM data for digital twin creation, accelerated operations and maintenance activities.
-
Simplifies handover through progressive data drops
Fix designs for pre-agreed periods in line with the Master Information Delivery Plan to ensure consistency in design decisions across all teams.
-
SaaS speeds deployments, upgrades and new features
Allow for rapid incorporation of a simple Common Data Environment (CDE) to get teams collaborating within the principles laid out in ISO19650.
-
Enables complete BIM adoption
Rapidly onboard collaborators and easily set up projects both large and small.
OpenText Core for Building Information Modelling features
-
Role based access and task assignment
Ensures BIM data is delivered fit for future operations by engaging the project members qualified to undertake the tasks assigned to their roles.
-
Complete task visibility
Offers a single view of the status of all deliverables, past and present, to everyone engaged in the project.
-
Easy access to data for extended project teams
Employs a pay to use model, not pay per user, removing restrictions on the number of users able to interact with the BIM cloud server system and extending collaboration as far as needed.
-
Classification driven to ensure standards
Uses classifications based on the Uniclass 2015 system to help define what deliverables are required, when they are required and by whom to manage Asset Information Models and Requirements (AIR) efficiently.
